A unique, one-of-a-kind rendition of a classic landmark in Debbie's signature style!
SJ Museum of Heart
The Artist’s Interpretation:
I remember as a child, I was so moved by Martin Luther King, Jr., I really do remeber the day he was murdered, I was personally devisated! When in kindergarten, I went on one of my first field trip to the Martin Luther King library in San Jose California, I was so impressed with the historic building and thought, at this age of 5, that it was Martin Luther King, Jr's. house, or something like that. I have fond memories of many visits to this magnificent library! As years went by the Library became the SJ Museum of Art.
In 2004 I was invited by the San Jose Museum of Art to come and paint live on the on the door steps of the museum with four other artist. Unbeknownst to all of us the other 3 women were some of my greatest friends in the art world. I came up with the idea of painting the Clock Tower, each in our own rendition. This was quite the challenge for me and so we each painted our own version.
Famous for my colorful hearts, I had to ask myself, what would a Debbie Marie Arambula building look like. OMG what a question..... I immediately saw the angle that I wanted to paint from and the colors, well, they just came to me naturally.
I have since taken photos of all the cities I travel to and hope to get to start my City Scape Series this year.
Ask Debbie to paint a building or a city scape & you can only imagine what happens! Here is her version of the beautiful SJ Museum of Art in downtown San Jose!
