Coure del Toscano
The Artist’s Interpretation:
This red, magenta, purply-blue, multi-colored oil painting is some of my earliest work. Most of my originals are sold, but this one I held on to till now. It's one of my only earlier oil paintings availible for sale. Passionately painted with energetic excitement, my palette knife was a pure extention of the romantic connection to family and my Italian heritage. I have such fond memories of my Great Grand parents from Italy and the traditions that they left behind! Growing up in an Italian family was never fully understood, until one day, standing in Florence, Italy, I say this passionate man speaking loudly with his hands. And, I saw this type of expressive communication throughout my entire trip to Italy! It was then that I understood and appreciated the depth of my expressive, emotional, passionate, loud & colorful Italian family.
This piece captures the colorful joy that I believe Italy inspires in many aspects of our culture and the world. One of my most favorite places in the world, this piece was painted before taking a two week trip to Italy with my Mother, Father, my three brothers and their wives and my best freind & hubby, Steve.
Upon returning from Italy, I looked at the painting hanging in my private studio and said to Steve, "I sure did capture the passionate soul of Tuscany!" Today, the original oil is availible for viewing by request only.
