Beautiful Love
This Magnificent Mixed Media original was born from pure imagination & deep drive. It is truly one- of-a-kind. Hand-sculpted using a combination of new & recycled materials, I worked out the details for a half a year. Creating something you’ve never seen is one thing. Putting it all together with a 102 temperature to unveil it in the upcoming week was quite the birthing experience!
This mixed media sculpture on canvas was hand-molded with deep love as though it was my own heart emerging from within. Yeah, maybe it was the temperature, or maybe it is the ever giving BIG LOVE that permeates every inch of my soul.
And then I figured it out: made by plaster casting & molding the heart first & then attaching it to the acrylic painted canvas, using scraps of gauze to secure it was a hands-on experience. And all the while I was creating this, my beautiful children & hubby would come out to check on me and tell me how it was the “Coolest thing you have ever done”. My biggest fan club! Oh where would I be without their amazing love?
Now, I am not one of those that can’t throw away things but, “Recycling” has always come natural to me. Since a young girl, I see art in things that most would see as garbage. And so for 6 years, I saved my left over oil palette tray liners. They just have this most fantastic energy in them & I knew someday I would use them for something MAGICAL! And so it hit me like a lightening jolt to my heart that this is how I would paint Bella Amore.
With wild abandon I cut these palettes up in to all sorts of shapes, reminiscing about all the paintings that where born from these little pieces of energy and then I counted them: My first ever soulful Heart Series, my passionate Tuscan Landscapes, the beginnings of my Sunflower Series, the first ever Labyrinth of Love, the Family Heart Portrait Series, and one by one, I placed each piece on the heart, gluing it in the perfect place, cutting only 5 hearts & placing them in the center of the hear,t each representing the people that I adore more than anything! My hubby & soulmate, Steve, our first born, Dano Mano, our magic Man, Nickolini, & our sweetness bubble of light girl, Katie Pie. I am So in LOVE with them!
Upon finishing this amazing multicolored sculptural creation, my heart and soul did the happy dance! The joy of creating a piece from my naked imagination for the world to see was like giving birth to a fourth child, or how my hubby puts it, my first self-portrait.
The heart is a universal symbol for LOVE and is understood in almost every culture of the world. It is a symbol that I use to express the deepest emotions of the human spirit. It is a perfect symbol in celebrating of Life, Love, Relationships, Marriage, Passion, Sorrow, Forgiveness, Happiness, Compassion & an array of emotions and moral subjects. It has become an endless vehicle for expression!
'Bella Amore' is about BIG BEAUTIFUL LOVE and birthing love to the World, unconditionally. A kind of self-portrait of the purest gift I have to offer you, INSPIRATION FOR LOVE!
