The Artist’s Personal Story:
This is Debbie's first butterfly after returning from Italy. Feel the passion & the energy!
This piece is so preciously personal to me. It has taken me almost 3 years to release this story on my website. So, as I bare my naked soul to the world, here goes.
I painted 'Vivere' during a time in my life that I was having great difficulty. As an artist in constant demand, no one really understands the pressure of this life and often, the artist is taken for granted. Some think we just have this endless well of creativity & a stress-free lifestyle to boot. I can tell you that this life, although full of adventure & beautiful people, is far from being a vacation. I travel all over the country, bare my soul to the world, always under the eye of the opinions (good or bad) of others. It is not an easy road, as most think it is.
So, I get up every morning, hoping to find the words in the paint, the emotion in the color, the inspiration from life and sometimes, economic strife grips my creation and holds my soul for a while. And sometimes, the fear that I will run out of things to say, lose my way in the process of creating a masterpiece, lurks in the corners of my mind.
Somehow, this particular day, I was listening to my new CD Vivere’, by Andrea Bocelli. It was his new album and I am in love with every inch of it! The song called Vivere’ pierced the wall of fear like a lightning bolt of love, flowing thru my soul. Love for myself, love for others, love for the life. To dare to Live!
Looking deep within, I found new inspiration to smash my fears, with a blast of spiritual enlightenment, to live and to dare to live. These words of the song are my life as an artist. They are what I do every day for myself & others, all over the world, and the veil of sorrow lifted. The road of inspiration was open like an ocean wave, free flowing, & I was as free as a butterfly to capture this concept of living your life for love, with passion, compassion, no regrets . . .
